EXPERIENCE

She has vast experience as in-house counsel to trade associations, nonprofit organizations and institutionalized arbitration and mediation centers. Paula has practiced throughout corporate and governance matters of the aforementioned, as well as commercial and dispute resolution, primarily in construction and infrastructure matters, as well as public work concessions and related regulatory frameworks.

In addition, she is an expert in the rights for people with disabilities, serving as member of the board of directors of an NGO devoted to the education and social inclusion of persons with Down syndrome. Her master in law thesis “La capacidad jurídica de las personas con discapacidad intelectual” (Legal capacity and mental disabilities) was granted with the Mario Garrido Montt Award to the best thesis of 2015 and published in 2017 by Thomson Reuters.

Board member to the Chilean Foundation for Down Syndrome – COMPLEMENTA.

Member of the National Consultive Council for Disabilities (SENADIS- Servicio Nacional e la Discapacidad), and of the Citizen Participation Council of the Chilean Government – Ministerio de Desarrollo Social (Ministry of Social Development).

Frequent lecturer at seminars regarding the promotion of rights of persons with disabilities.
